The ODC is involved in local politics in Orangetown. One of our main functions is to seek out candidates to run for public office in Orangetown. This includes supervisor, town council, town clerk, town justice, and superintendent of highways.

Every two years there is an election regarding a public office (2022 will be an election year). Town councilperson and town justice both have four-year terms.

We also informally support village mayoral or trustee races in Piermont, Grandview, and Nyack, as well as those county legislative candidates whose districts fall within Orangetown.
